***edited***
Variation #1: I flipped the sketch.
Variation #2: I moved my title to the bottom of the left side of the page.
Variation #3: I added embellishments in place of the original place of the title.
Variation #4: I moved my journaling over just a little bit so I could add some embellishments.
Here's a closer look at the title and gears that I traced, cut out, then hand stitched.
Here is another look at the gears and the robot.

Wow, so adorable! Great details on your page! Love how you stitched and inked the gears - adds great dimension.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook for many reasons. I love that I can express my creativity on my layouts, even though I'm not that artistic. I love taking pictures and scrapbooking allows me to showcase those photos. And it's a great way of preserving family memories. I've started a lot more heartfelt journalling this past year and it adds another dimension to my layouts. This hobby is so much fun and I can't imagine life without it. Thanks for the chance to win! Oh, and I became a follower. :)
Really love your layout ... there's so much going on and yet it doesn't feel busy.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook to showcase my pictures and preserve the memory ... the story behind the pictures. I inherited boxes full of pictures ... their stories forgotten ... and that's sad.
Love your layout! Those gears and robots are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook to preserve the memories of not only my son but my niece, and 2 nephews...as I want the to be able to have a record of their lives' to pass down to their kids and the added bonus is I have met some AWESOME ladies along the way and made some new friends!
Love the fact that you have a boy! I follow your blog for boy ideas! The reasons I scrapbook are several. I love the supplies, I love my kits..I truly hope my children are going to cherish their books when they are older and remember the good time we had. It's also a way to spend time with friends. Cropping is a main social event for me. Love it!!
ReplyDeletewonderfully done! Love all the robots and the gears!
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook to preserve my family's memories. It's as simple as that! :)
I love how you flipped the sketch! I scrapbook for a creative outlet and to look back on the memories because time flies when you have a busy family life and I want to show my kids how important they are to me!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout. Love the gears and robots. Perfect for a little boy.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook because I like the creative outlet and looking back at all the special times, especially as my kids grow.
I'm a two page girl myself...and love your take on the sketch. It's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI just read the other day that I'm a social scrapper...I love having a reason to get away with the girls! LOL
Shari, your layout is wonderful. I love how colourful it is and that you flipped the sketch.
ReplyDeleteYou can visit my blog to see why I love to scrapbook.
I love to scrapbook because I love being creative and taking little pieces of paper and making layouts.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook because I love the crafty part of it as well as the looks on the kids faces when they go back and look through them. My DH loves to look thru them as well and it is such a satisfying feeling!! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook to document my family's history, use it as a creative outlet and I love hanging out with my scrappin' buddies.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour and cogs on your layout. I started scrapbooking to get photos out of their packets and into albums, now I also scrapbook because I love the creative outlet.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this layout. I especially love how you flipped the sketch. I scrapbook because I want to document memories.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have a robot layout to do this morning - you've inspired me! I scrapbook because I want to preserve memories, but mostly because I never outgrew elementary school and I like playing with scissors, paper and paste!
ReplyDeleteFollowing your blog...
The gears are great! I scrapbook because it is my creative outlet and I love looking back at my pages.
ReplyDeleteLove the fun little boy look on your lo, Christina! Just became a follower! I scrapbook, because I want to preserve the memories of my children growing up...especially the everyday moments, because those will be the ones that are most easily forgotten but are the moments that make up our lives. Also, it is EXTRMELY fun and a great creative outlet for me!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright colorful layout. It really catches your eye. I scrapbook to remember the times when my now teenage boys were smaller. I like that when you scrap pictures, you almost relive the moment that your working with. And of course I love the pretty paper!
ReplyDeleteThe gears and little robot are so cute. I scrapbook to help me remember all the funny things that were said, memories that might fade away and to document things about hubby & myself to let my son know a little more about us before he was born. :)
ReplyDeleteI got this paper and was not real excited about it... till now!!!! I love this!!! I am going to pull it and get to work on some awesome boy pages for the DS!
ReplyDeleteWhy I scrapbook... well, if I don't I am neglecting to pass along the story of our lives to my children... and (someday) future grandchildren... and future great grandchildren. The history of our family would end with me and that is not what I want for my family.
I like you reversed the sketch! Nice LO!
ReplyDeleteLove your layout! I have 2 boys and although they are adults now, I still have hundreds of photos from when they were kids. A page like this would be perfect for them.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook because I want to always remember the little details of our lives. I want my kids to be able to look at them and cherish the memories of their childhoods. I want my grandchildren to be able to see how we lived and that they came from families with a lot of love.

ReplyDeleteYour layout is simply adorable! I love the robots!!! I so need this paper!!
I love to scrap to keep our family memories alive. Some of the day to day things get forgotten unless I scrap them and then they can be brought to mind whenever looking at my albums.
How cute. Perfect paper line for this layout.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower! I love scrapbooking mostly for the creative outlet it provides for me. It's really a bonus that I'm preserving memories for my family at the same time!
ReplyDeleteLove your layout! The bold patterns and bright colors are amazing!
New follower here. I scrapbook for several reasons to include stress relief and creativeness, but mainly because being an Army brat that was not room for much more than the basics so no scrapbooks or memories jotted down for me. I want my DD (and any future kids) to have that memory.
ReplyDeleteJust became a follower-love your layout! makes me wish i had a boy! I scrapbook to express my creativity and to leave something so my family will be able to remember me and all the good times we shared
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook for "me" time and to create a memory for my kids. Our lives are so busy nowadays i want them to have a chance remembering all the little things.
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the sketch - so bright and your title is too cute. I scrap to keep the stories of our lives alive and because playing with paper, pictures and my scrap tools makes me so very happy. I never get tired of telling the stories. I feel like it's what God built me to do - no matter how corny that sounds.
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors on your page, and especially that scallop pp background! There are lots of reasons why I scrapbook, but the most important one to me is to try to capture memories and bits of everyday life, so (hopefully) one day my kids and grandkids and even great-grandkids will be able to look through albums and really "see" their family.
ReplyDeleteI've been a follower for a while now. I sketch to help refresh those memories, as a creative outlet, and I just enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect paper for such busy boys! I like the stitching on the cogs, too
ReplyDeleteDon't you love those gears for boys? Love your page. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSorry - forgot to say why I scrapbook - I love working with papers and finding a creative way to save and share memories - plus it's a great excuse for 4 weekend getaways each year to scrap with my friends!
ReplyDeleteLike your colorful layout. Cute kids! I just became a follower of your blog. I scrapbook to have an organized way to preserve the photos I take along with the memories they invoke, plus I enjoy the hands-on work. Love paper crafts!
ReplyDeleteI became a follower! What a cute blog--love the cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook because I want to record the memories of my family, to preserve their heritage, and to provide a creative outlet for myself.
Love the background on your blog! Very cute. I scrapbook because I really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI just "followed" your blog :) and as for why do I scrapbook? I've always taken lots of pics and put them in those old magnetic photo albums when I was younger, adding little comments and momentoes. Then I was introduced to scrapbooking and the rest is history! Alzheimers runs in my family and I am hoping not to succumb to that disease, so I scrapbook to remember! Have a good day :) Oh.. and I like your page, very cute robots!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout. Love the papers, gears, and little robot. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook to record memories for my boys and because it's fun.
Love your layout! I scrapbook because it allows me to capture memories & be creative!
ReplyDeleteI love your bright, colorful layout! I scrapbook, because I can record memories and it's a creative outlet for me.

ReplyDeleteLove the colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout!! Love the BRIGHT pattern paper you chose. Why do I scrapbook? Because I like it!! I love the creative outlet it provides. I love Crops- I get to hang with my friends and chat while we share our family memories. Plus I have a thing for pretty paper. :) So glad I'm already a fan!
ReplyDeletewww.cpmemories.blogspot.com
Wow! I love the little robots! Too cute! And it's a boy page! I'm so bad at doing masculine scrapping... I scrap because I love everything you can create with it! It's not limited to just layouts. You can do decorative home decor, cards, or something else! It's a creative outlet for me and that's why I do it.
ReplyDeleteThis layout rocks!! Luv the robots and gears..

ReplyDeleteI love your fun, colorful layout!
love the layout - such cute boys! can't believe you traced and cut out the gears yourself! will have to scraplift that technique soon for one of my boys' pages!
ReplyDeleteI scrapbook because it allows me to showcase my pictures in a fun and creative way and allows me an outlet for my "perfectionist" side... sometimes wish I were more original and didn't have to "scraplift" so often but I'm having fun and that's the most important right?
thanks!
