Sketch Support's National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop

Yes, Sketch Support is back again with another fantastic blog hop.  This time we are celebrating National Scrapbook Day.  Can you believe they have a day just for scrapbookers?!  Woohoo!!!!

If you are are just now joining in on the fun and did not start the blog hop from Sketch Support I would recommend you hop back over to the Sketch Support blog to start from the beginning.  And if you are accessing my blog from the amazingly talented, Carolyn Wolff, you are right on track.  We have some amazing projects to share with you so please visit each blog for some inspiration and your chance to win some awesome prizes.   We also have a fun scavenger hunt going on.

Are you ready to get things started??  Here we go......

The first thing I'm going to share with you is the sketch that Allison asked each of to create a project out of.  Well most of you know that I am a two-page girl all the way so that is what I will be sharing with you on my page today.

Here is the sketch:

Love it!  How about you?

And here is my take on it.......

"Up to no good" by Christina Hoffman

Supply List: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants Designs; Embroidery Thread: DMC; Title and Robot: Fancy Pants Designs; Sketch: Allison Davis, Sketch Support and Scrapbook Generation

***edited***

Variation #1: I flipped the sketch.
Variation #2: I moved my title to the bottom of the left side of the page.
Variation #3: I added embellishments in place of the original place of the title.
Variation #4: I moved my journaling over just a little bit so I could add some embellishments.

Here's a closer look at the title and gears that I traced, cut out, then hand stitched.

Here is another look at the gears and the robot.

Now it's give away time.  Who doesn't love a giveaway??  There are two requirements for you to be eligible to win your choice of any volume sketch book.  First, I will need you to follow my blog and second, you will need to answer the following question.
Why do you Scrapbook?

The drawing for the sketch book and the grand prize through Sketch Support ends Monday, May 9th at 12:00 a.m.

If you have been following the blog hop and leaving comments on each blog like the directions stated on Sketch Support then you're on your way to winning the grand prize giveway.
Your next stop on the hop is my local creative team gal, Christy Arthur.  Your gonna love what she has to share with you.  That's it for me, thanks for visiting and good luck to everyone!

Have a good weekend!

  1. Wow, so adorable! Great details on your page! Love how you stitched and inked the gears - adds great dimension.

I scrapbook for many reasons. I love that I can express my creativity on my layouts, even though I'm not that artistic. I love taking pictures and scrapbooking allows me to showcase those photos. And it's a great way of preserving family memories. I've started a lot more heartfelt journalling this past year and it adds another dimension to my layouts. This hobby is so much fun and I can't imagine life without it. Thanks for the chance to win! Oh, and I became a follower. :)

  2. Really love your layout ... there's so much going on and yet it doesn't feel busy.

I scrapbook to showcase my pictures and preserve the memory ... the story behind the pictures. I inherited boxes full of pictures ... their stories forgotten ... and that's sad.

I love the supplies, I love my kits..I truly hope my children are going to cherish their books when they are older and remember the good time we had. It's also a way to spend time with friends. Cropping is a main social event for me. Love it!!

  19. The gears and little robot are so cute. I scrapbook to help me remember all the funny things that were said, memories that might fade away and to document things about hubby & myself to let my son know a little more about us before he was born. :)

  20. I got this paper and was not real excited about it... till now!!!! I love this!!! I am going to pull it and get to work on some awesome boy pages for the DS!

Why I scrapbook... well, if I don't I am neglecting to pass along the story of our lives to my children... and (someday) future grandchildren... and future great grandchildren. The history of our family would end with me and that is not what I want for my family.

  21. I like you reversed the sketch! Nice LO!

  22. Love your layout! I have 2 boys and although they are adults now, I still have hundreds of photos from when they were kids. A page like this would be perfect for them.

I scrapbook because I want to always remember the little details of our lives. I want my kids to be able to look at them and cherish the memories of their childhoods. I want my grandchildren to be able to see how we lived and that they came from families with a lot of love.

  31. New follower here. I scrapbook for several reasons to include stress relief and creativeness, but mainly because being an Army brat that was not room for much more than the basics so no scrapbooks or memories jotted down for me. I want my DD (and any future kids) to have that memory.

    ReplyDelete

I scrap to keep the stories of our lives alive and because playing with paper, pictures and my scrap tools makes me so very happy. I never get tired of telling the stories. I feel like it's what God built me to do - no matter how corny that sounds.

  35. I love the bright colors on your page, and especially that scallop pp background! There are lots of reasons why I scrapbook, but the most important one to me is to try to capture memories and bits of everyday life, so (hopefully) one day my kids and grandkids and even great-grandkids will be able to look through albums and really "see" their family.

  43. I just "followed" your blog :) and as for why do I scrapbook? I've always taken lots of pics and put them in those old magnetic photo albums when I was younger, adding little comments and momentoes. Then I was introduced to scrapbooking and the rest is history! Alzheimers runs in my family and I am hoping not to succumb to that disease, so I scrapbook to remember! Have a good day :) Oh.. and I like your page, very cute robots!

  49. Wow! I love the little robots! Too cute! And it's a boy page! I'm so bad at doing masculine scrapping... I scrap because I love everything you can create with it! It's not limited to just layouts. You can do decorative home decor, cards, or something else! It's a creative outlet for me and that's why I do it.

  92. love the layout - such cute boys! can't believe you traced and cut out the gears yourself! will have to scraplift that technique soon for one of my boys' pages!

I scrapbook because it allows me to showcase my pictures in a fun and creative way and allows me an outlet for my "perfectionist" side... sometimes wish I were more original and didn't have to "scraplift" so often but I'm having fun and that's the most important right?

    thanks!
